Joyce was born in Germany, to an English father and German mother, on October 23, 1987. Her parents must have sensed something special about Joyce because one of the first toys they gave her was a small, pink, plastic toy piano. Joyce attributes her love of music to that day when she touched the tiny keyboard.

By the age of ten she had enough courage to sing in front of an audience, even if it consisted of only her family and friends. Before long she was a regular at school parties, singing the hits of the day, and spending the rest of her time acting in a local youth theatre group.

In 2001, at the age of 14 she found herself captivated by the sass of rock and the energy of the dance tunes blasting out of the stereos around Europe, and decided to form her own band that would be a mix of both. She called it “Reason” and spent the next 4 years polishing her craft on countless stages all over Europe, singing everywhere, from a tiny café in Belgium to a packed theatre in Germany’s capital of cool, Berlin.

At 18, just before she decided to listen to her mother’s advice and enter the talent competition “Pop Idol”, Joyce’s father passed away, leaving Joyce and her mother devastated and uncertain about the future.

As a tribute to her father and her support of her music, Joyce entered the competition and at her first audition she reduced the judges to tears with her spine-tingling rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Hero”. She made it through to the final 20.

As a result of her appearance in the talent contest, Joyce spent the next one year on the Pop Idol rollercoaster, performing up and down the country and gaining studio experience while recording her self-penned songs. During one such recording session, a Dutch-German production duo of Brane Kovak and Uwe Taubert were so impressed both by Joyce’s vocals and her spunky personality that they offered her a solo artist contract.

“Vibed Up” now signed exclusively worldwide to Parker Recordings / Next Plateau Entertainment was one of the first songs Joyce recorded with her new team, a rousing dance anthem wrapped in her emotional vocal, aimed at hearts and dancefloors around the world.
