Gwop: A slang term for currency that exists amongst the streets. According to Ronnie Levi Davis aka “Burn” and Lonnie Lamont Davis aka “Modo”, the only way to make that Gwop is to create amazing music. In 1998 after the death of their second eldest brother, the Gwop Boyz finally realized how short life could be and decided to take their talent to the next level. Ever since that tragic day the Boyz have been on a mission to make that Gwop the best way they know how, through their hard edged rhymes and space age production. The Gwop Boyz a/k/a Burn and Modo came into this world at the same time, and while they are identical twins, their appearance and their love for music are the only things they have in common. Their differences actually compliment each other, resulting in some of the most creative music that has ever come out of your speakers.
The Gwop Boyz were born and raised in Broward County, Florida, so they know exactly what it takes to make it in the Dirty South. The Gwop Boyz are all about hitting the streets, so they decided to run with an Indie label that would give them the time and attention that they deserve and signed with Level 6 Records / Next Plateau Entertainment. Their new single “Tonight” is destined to be a favorite this summer in the clubs and at radio.
