When the world speaks, it rarely has anything good to say about the ghetto. Some even want the woes of the ghetto to be tucked away in silence as “things unspoken of”. It ain’t no secret, all types of people come from the ghetto and now the ghetto has birthed a new shade of brown-Ghetto Brown, that is.
Ghetto Brown discovered that he had an astronomical talent for writing lyrics while attending the seventh grade in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Now one could google Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the results will show a view of a nice community nestled along-side a huge body of calm water. It may even describe Baton Rouge as the state capital; but Ghetto Brown knows it first-hand as the durty-durty, where life is as muggy as that body of water known as the Mississippi River.
While most kids have to be motivated by eager parents and school counselors, Ghetto Brown, was motivated by nothing but the fact that he could one day conquer more than just the ghetto around him-in fact, he knew he could conquer the world. He hit the pavement with all the money he could muster up, leading him into Milwaukee, Wisconsin only to find himself smack dab in the middle of another ghetto. This is where he linked up with Bigg Hank, who produced one of hip-hop’s most descriptive hood tracks; “My Projects” by Coo Coo Cal. Bigg Hank took Ghetto Brown under his wing, along with his label, Unexplained Music, to carefully execute the take ova’.
To optimize their chances in the industry, the duo submitted a change of address form that now reflects their new headquarters in the ATL. ATL, being notorious for making it do what it do, embraced Ghetto Brown as he explains, “I get so much love in Atlanta. If the music is tight, they don’t care where you come from.” You already know that Interstate-20 has been christened by the street, gutta, real talk lyrics of his song, “Doin’ My Thang”. I’m sure he has many asking him, “How Ya Do Dat”? Although, he acknowledges how far he has come, he will never forget where he came from. “I’m just me being me. I came from the ghetto but I’m proof that you can make it out; so keep your head up!”
To that end, one can’t help but think that Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill had Ghetto Brown in mind when they prophesied that, “The World is a Ghetto. With ambitions of being the best in the game, coupled with his new hit song, “I GOT IT”, it is only too much right that GHETTO BROWN is on his way to the top. When the world already has your first name, there’s nowhere else to go but up.
