J Shorty, “AKA” Jaebeautiful and J, is a shining example of how big things come in little packages.  At the a height of under five feet, J became known as J Shorty, but her size is no reflection of what she brings to her music or the music scene. At the young age of 19 years old J is not only a beautiful and talented singer, but a songwriter and overall entertainer. Her passion for singing started when she was 7 years old singing in the school choir. J Shorty began taking her music seriously around the age of 10 performing in any local event available to her. For a while J did all her music a capella to maintain her originality. At that young age she knew that listening to the radio may impact her originality. “I knew it was time to lock myself in. I stopped listening to the radio for a while and just wrote as many songs as I could.” 

J’s studio experiences have been good and bad, hopping from studio to studio in her hometown of Springfield, MA. until 2005 when she was introduced to a family friend who took her under his wing; Jose Delgado (Buk). Starting to work with Pure Material Productions helped J Shorty to open up to more diverse music.  Recording with Buk and his lot of artists that came through his studio gave J depth in her music, with a little bit of everything; R&B, pop, techno, reggae and reggaeton! She is very open minded and desires for her music to defiantly be out of this planet.
J Shorty’s career took a turn towards the success she’s dreamed of when Domingo Canate of Umbrella Media Group introduced her to manager Linda Berk of Notable Entertainment.  Linda was the manager behind the success of Ashanti and Linda saw J as an international success story.  Eddie O’Loughlin of Next Plateau heard the makings of a hit in a song brought to him by Domingo a year earlier.  Together with the successful production of Carlos Barbosa from the Netherlands who has worked with Montel Jordan, Keith Murray, DJ Chuckie, Fatman Scoop, Ma$e, Fabolous, Wutang Clan and more, Next Plateau developed the hit song “In Your Eyes”.  With this new release by J Shorty and Carlos B, this is just the beginning of an international hit career, the beginning of stardom of which the beautiful J Shorty and has spent her young life dreaming.  Look out world, J Shorty is on the scene!
